  • Lizzy McAlpine Drops New Music Video for “Older”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Lizzy McAlpine dropped a new music video for “Older” directed by sweetiepie (Neema Sadeghi and Ethan Frank) on November 22, 2025.

The song is featured on her third studio album of the same name, which was released last April.
It was written by Elizabeth McAlpine, Mason Stoops, and Taylor Mackall. Produced by Lizzy McAlpine and Mason Stoops.
She filmed the video back in January 2024, but the video was not released due to some reasons.

Lizzy McAlpine said of the video, “We shot the music video for Older in January of 2024, and pretty soon after that I scrapped it, for multiple different reasons. Rewatching it recently with Neema Sadeghi I saw a younger Lizzy really going through it lol, and I felt for her. I’m in such a different place now than I was when we filmed this, and releasing this video felt like the best way to close the chapter, at the same time remembering who I was when I made this album & video, and knowing how much I’ve learned since then.”
  • Director Neema Sadeghi said, “Haven’t stopped thinking about this special video since I left set that day. I’ve rewatched this video maybe 100 times now. This location is one very near and dear to my heart. I’ve spent many significant moments in my life here. Birthdays, anniversary’s, celebrations, a place of self reflection. I had always wanted to shoot something here that meant a lot to me. When Lizzy came to us wanting to make a video that felt authentic and emotional, I knew the exact spot.”

He continued, “Leading up to the shoot, Ethan and I were overwhelmed with pressure-a one-take video, at sunset, on 35mm film, all driven entirely by Lizzy’s emotions. We came prepared with 20 ideas on how to “direct” her, anxious about everything that could go wrong. But when we arrived, Lizzy just said, 'I’m good, I got it. I have a lot to pull from.' So we trusted her.”

  • Lizzy McAlpine told Apple Music about the song, “This song changed everything for me. I had the first verse and chorus written in a voice memo that I’d kind of forgotten about because my first producer thought it might be too Disney. But when I played it for Mason and Taylor [Mackall], they were immediately like, ‘No, this is amazing.’ The only issue was that I didn’t know how to finish it, since by the time we revisited it, I was so far removed from the intensity of that breakup. They suggested I write about where I am now. Doing that tied the whole song together for me, and cemented the album’s entire concept. It unlocked everything. We finished the song in 20 minutes, did three takes, used the third one, and never looked back.”
