  • Hannah Laing Premieres New Song “Have You Ever Loved (Ellie)” featuring Hannah Boleyn on BBC Radio 1

  • Scottish DJ Hannah Laing premiered a new song “Have You Ever Loved (Ellie)” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song pays tribute to her best friend Ellie Scanlan, who passed away in July 2025.
Hannah Laing shared, “It's in honor of my life best mate who I sadly lost in July.”
On the track, Hannah Laing teamed up with British singer-songwriter Hannah Boleyn.
It was written by Alex Cramp, Bhawjot Amrit Singh, Hannah Boleyn, Hannah Laing, Josh Wilkinson, Ki Fitzgerald, and Liam Robertson. Produced by Hannah Laing and Alex Cramp.

Hannah Laing told Jack Saunders about the song, “I've had my eye on Hannah for a while, since her track with Billy (Billy Gillies), and I really loved her voice. The tone of her voice is amazing, and like it really resonated with me. And I asked Hannah to write a new verse on it, and she absolutely smashed it.”
  • She continued, “When I got sent the top line, it was just after summer. And the top line was, 'Have you ever loved somebody the way I love you'. And unfortunately, I just lost my best mate in July. So that's who I started thinking of. And that's how this the chorus, really resonated with me so much. And then, I obviously asked Hannah if she would be open to writing a verse about Ellie. And I gave her loads of information about Ellie, me and Ellie's friendship, because I've been lifelong best mates. And then, she delivered some amazing, amazing lyrics by Ellie. And that's how it became that. I didn't want to, like, dive deep into it, but that's the song.”
