  • Maisie Peters Releases New Song “Say My Name In Your Sleep”

  • British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters teamed up with British folk rock band Mumford & Sons' Marcus Mumford to release a new song “Say My Name In Your Sleep” on November 19, 2025.

She co-wrote and co-produced the track with Marcus Mumford, with production by Ian Fitchuk.
The song will appear on her upcoming third studio album.
The track was inspired by Daphne du Maurier's 1938 Gothic novel “Rebecca”.

Maisie Peters said of the song, “It was one of the first songs Marcus and I wrote together in Real World Studios in deep winter - there was something magical and spooky in the air there, and I think it definitely got translated into this song.”
  • She continued, “'Say My Name In Your Sleep' is a song about both haunting and being haunted. It's about keeping a constant eye on the past - on the person you loved - whilst being old enough and grown enough to know it wasn't right, and to wish them all the best. It's about having a tiny, secret sliver of your heart that still, deep down, hopes and prays they think of you - just a little, just when it's dark, just when they hear that song on the radio. It's about letting go, begrudgingly, but letting your shadow linger a moment too long.”
  • Maisie Peters shared on social media, “This song for me embodies the new era of music - it feels both wistful and nostalgic, soft yet pointed, simmering with a quiet anger but a louder acceptance that love ends up exactly where it's meant to, even if a piece of it does get lodged in your heart forever. Making this song with Marcus Mumford in Real World Studios was also the beginning of a wonderful collaboration that would play a huge part in the making of this album; he jumped on board the mp3 ship right when it needed him and together we made some stuff I am so proud of, starting with this song. It also included backing vocals by my angel Gretta Ray who did the most incredible job as per usual, it was the first song she put harmonies on for this album (and not the last hehe) and she blew us all away immediately. produced by me, Marcus and Ian Fitchuk.”

She added, “This song is super special to me - I made it almost a year ago today, in deep blue midwinter in real world studios, and it really set the tone and sonic for what would become the rest of the album. It's a song about how real true love never truly leaves you, but sticks like glue to the cracks and crevices of your brain, for better and for worse; it's a feeling i've always been obsessed with capturing, and one that is a huge corner stone of this record.”
