HIGHDRIVE Releases Debut Song “Cherry”

Brighton-based post-punk band HIGHDRIVE, consisting of Lucas Leitch (vocals/guitar), Eva Jaksi (bass/ vocals), Bella Palanques (guitar), Felix Cleeve (guitar) and Billy Houghton (drums), singed to Venn Records this year and released their debut song “Cherry” on November 18, 2025.
The track captures the pressure, power and politics of modern life in a haze of crushing distortion, blending post-punk grit with shoegaze textures and flashes of nu-metal intensity.
Produced by British indie rock band Coach Party's drummer Guy Page. It was written by Felix Cleeve, Lucas Leitch, and William Houghton.- The band frontman Lucas Leitch said of the song, “Cherry is about sitting with anger, but also about the desire to push back against apathy in whatever way you can. The song came from a time where it felt (and still feels) like the people with the power and resources to make real change were looking the other way. I found myself feeling this mix of envy and frustration, watching those who could help the most do so little for those who need it. There's a kind of hopelessness in that, like you're shouting into a void. But I think we have to shout.”
