Faith Richards Releases New Song “Private Star”
Dallas-based R&B singer-songwriter Faith Richards released her brand new song “Private Star” on November 14, 2025.
The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be released in summer 2026.
Written in two chapters, first in Paris, France in 2022 while working as an au pair, and later completed in her Dallas apartment in 2025, the song embodies a striking duality.
It was inspired by a vivid mental image of a dancer in a private room, commanding the space with pure confidence and sexual power.
Faith Richards said of the song, “I was definitely in two completely different places in my life. In Paris, I was confidently single and writing nonstop. When I finished the song years later, I was completely in love and much more confident in my voice and perspective.”- She continued, “I was channeling a stripper’s confidence and the power they have over men. It’s pretty cool that we all have the ability to step into anyone’s confidence-but we often let the fear of being perceived or rejected stop us.”
She added, “I wrote the first half of this in 2022 and didn’t show Jordan Iacovella the voice memo of just me n my piano until spring of this year. We cooked it up real fast after that. 3 years in the making though. Wild. It’s sexy, unapologetic, a lil toxic and a lotta vibes!!!!” -
The new album is her first project in four years since the 2022 debut album “I'll Bloom When I'm Ready”. She said of the album, “It’s so freeing to not be bound by structure or genre. I feel like I’m creating my best and most authentic art yet.” - source : Apple Music
