Charm of Finches Returns With New Song “Meteor”

Australian indie pop duo Charm of Finches, consisting of Mabel Windred-Wornes and Ivy Windred-Wornes, returned with a new song “Meteor” on November 14, 2025.
The song is their first music since the 2024 album “Marlinchen In The Snow”, which was released last April.
Also, the song will appear on their upcoming fifth studio album, which is set to be released in 2026.
Last month, the duo launched a project with the Australian Cultural Fund to create their new album in Scotland in 2026. They are asking for support to help make the project a reality by inviting people to donate to their Australian Cultural Fund campaign.
The track was written by Ivy Windred-Wornes and Mabel Windred-Wornes. Produced by Daniel Ledwell, Nick Huggins, and Charm of Finches.
The duo said of the song, “This song came out of a bit of a turbulent time, and contemplates the sometimes fraught relationship with the self. We've visited many dramatic landscapes this year - we hiked up an active volcano in New Zealand and visited the oldest rainforest in the world up in Northern Queensland. We think that witnessing the power and grandeur of nature really influenced the writing of this song.”- The accompanying music video was directed by Charm of Finches themselves.
The duo said of the video, “We love to create music videos that are sort of like mini short films. We drew aesthetic inspiration from Yellow Jackets with a sprinkle of Narnia. We got out the glue guns and handcrafted elven twig crowns and feathered costume pieces, and even painted an animal skull mask. We collaborated with our incredible friends who helped us design and put together the costumes, source props as well as dance and act in it! We wanted to capture a magical, powerful, natural world and incorporate the beauty of the Australian landscape.” - source : Apple Music
