Sekou Premieres New Song “Love Language” on BBC Radio 1

London-based singer-songwriter Sekou premiered a new song “Love Language” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song will appear on his upcoming mixtape “In A World We Don't Belong (Pt.1)”, which is out this Friday (November 14th).
It was written by Jeff Gitelman, Jon Bellion, Jordan Johnson, Michael Pollack, Sekou Sylla, Stefan Johnson, and Theron Makiel Thomas. Produced by Jeff Gitty, The Monsters & Strangerz, and Theron Thomas.
The accompanying music video was directed by Relta.
Sekou told Jack Saunders about the song, “I think, to me, it's just a song about having a warm hug with yourself. And it's kind of a love letter to yourself, but also to past situationships. But I think it's just a song about safety and loving yourself and self respect.”
He continued, “I think it's just like, we need more vulnerable music. And more stuff that's open and no filter. But I really feel like with this song, it really kind of comes through, and I'm really happy. I think it's about time that I make something quite happy with my song so.”- The mixtape comprises 5 tracks, produced by Jasper Harris, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, Kevin Theodore, M-Tech, Noah Ehler, Sounwave and Theron Thomas.
Sekou said of the mixtape, “When I was making this music I really just wanted to be authentically myself – I always felt like an outsider growing up and I wanted to have music that I know other people would be able to put their stories through and, with the title, build a world where people felt understood. ‘In A World We Don’t Belong’ really sums up that feeling for me and each track is its own individual story.” - source : BBC Radio 1
