Dove Cameron Releases New Song “Hello My Old Lover”
American actress and singer-songwriter Dove Cameron released a new song “Hello My Old Lover” on November 7, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “Whatever You Like”, which was released in September. 2025.
Both songs will appear on her upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The track was written by Dove Cameron, Feli Ferraro, Jason Evigan, and Mark Schick. Produced by Jason Evigan and Mark Schick.
Dove Cameron said of the song, “When I wrote this very special song, I was in a time of healing and cracking open. I was seeing the world around me and seeing myself in an entirely new light. This is the reason for the simple production. Just some piano, some strings, and many many layers of my voice. I wanted to keep this message intimate, like my journal entries. It would be too easy to say that unhealthy love made me doubt my worth, and that healthy love made me realize it. To some degree that is true, but the whole truth is, I was not loving myself the way I wished others would love me either.”- She continued, “What has happened to me since I finally learned to love myself can only be called a home coming, the feeling that surrounds you when you finally find a soft place to land and you see yourself and your past for what they are and you can finally name it and release it. Pain and sadness, for my younger self, joy and light for the wholeness i have found, beauty in the new love and adoration I have found in my partner.”
