Telenova Announces New Album “THE WARNING”, Premieres New Song “THE DEEP” on triple j

Australian alt-pop band Telenova, consisting of Angeline Armstrong (vocals), Edward Quinn (multi-instrumentalist) and Joshua Moriarty (multi-instrumentalist), has announced their sophomore album “THE WARNING” will be released on February 27, 2026 via EMI Music Australia.
This marks their first album in two years since the 2024 debut album “Time Is a Flower”.
The album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Angeline Armstrong, Edward Quinn, Joshua Moriarty and Telenova.
The band lead singer Angeline Armstrong said of the album, “This record is the closest we've come to showing what's really happening beneath the surface. There's faith, fear, anxiety and awe - all at once. Either you confront what's broken, or you disappear into it. This record was us choosing to confront it.”
From the album, the band premiered a new song “THE DEEP” on ABC triple j.
The song is the forth single off, following “BITCRUSH”, “MOUNTAIN LION // ADORE”, and “PARALYSIS GHOSTS”.
It was written and produced by Telenova.
The accompanying music video was directed by Minh Nguyen.- The band said of the song, “‘The Deep’ is one of the most emotionally urgent songs we’ve ever performed. There’s an honesty in the lyrics that Josh and I wrote together that pushes beyond what we’ve done previously. It was written in the midst of a tumultuous personal time and maybe you’ll be able to hear that. When Sydney film director, Minh, and I first met - i was so moved by his deep resonance with the song and the way it spoke to him, his vision for the music video was so emotionally aligned with the source of the song itself. It was so special to feel that connection and relatability immediately. The video for ’The Deep’, like the song, is filled with imagery of surrender, failure, faith, returning - we hope that speaks to you wherever you’re at.”

The band said of the album, “The honest backstory to this album? Written against the backdrop of chasing our own tails, extreme highs and lows, personal struggles, and wondering whether the band and friendships would withstand that period of time or fall apart in the tension. In the midst of a whirlwind of touring in and amongst all that, we never sat down and said intentionally ‘let’s write our 2nd album’, songwriting is just something we do together. Whether it’s for a sense of purpose, distraction, therapy, it’s how we met and it’s where the three of us feel most ourselves together.”
They continued, “The period of time this album was written in was alarming, uncomfortable, uneasy, unstable, anxious - and I think you’re going to feel that in the music, and we hope it can be cathartic and relatable. But we stuck it out, we came through the other side, together. There’s a thread of hope in our music from that time too - the faith amidst the failure, the awe and curiosity amidst the darkness. It’s seriously an honour to be able to share this with you, not only to listen to, but to experience live.”
