Naughty Boy Releases New Song “The One” featuring Lost Girl & Maeta
British DJ Naughty Boy teamed up with British singer-songwriter Lost Girl and American R&B singer-songwriter Maeta to release a new song “The One” on October 31, 2025.
This marks the first time Naughty Boy, Lost Girl and Maeta have worked together.
For Naughty Boy, the song is the follow-up to Sky featuring British singer-songwriter SIPHO., which was released last month.
Meanwhile, for Lost Girl, it is her first collaboration of 2025. Also, for Maeta, the song is her first collaborative single in a year since the 2024 'Does Something Happen When You Hear My Name (Jason's Song)' with Elijah Blake and Tone Stith.
The track was written by Jordan Christie, Jovanna Jakubiszyn, Mutya Buena, Shahid Khan, Sheraz Amin, and Wesley Morias. Produced by Jordan Christie and Naughty Boy.
The accompanying music video was directed by Nick Bartleet.- Naughty Boy of the song, “When I met MAETA, that process began. She was very involved in how her version plays out. It's giving Brandy and Monica's 'The Boy Is Mine' in the theme. However, I also felt that the worst thing we could do is pit two girls together. Gladly, we avoided that.”
He added, “We are very excited for you all to hear what we have cooked up! Not all songs are made equal. When we first wrote the song we had a feeling that there was something missing but as soon as we figured out what it was we knew it was 'The One'.” -
The song will appear on his upcoming sophomore album, which is dedicated to his late mother.
A deeply personal project, the record explores resilience, purpose, and legacy while staying true to his genre-defying approach - fusing disco, gospel, jungle, and UK funky into his unmistakable sound.
