Sun Mahshene Returns With New Song “Life Is Joy”
Irish post-shoegaze band Sun Mahshene, consisting of Nathan Henderson (vocals/guitar), Robert Crosbie (guitar/vocals), Ian McGinn (guitar), David Hilliard (bass/vocals) and Dave Murray (drums), returned with a new song “Life Is Joy” on October 31, 2025.
The song is their first music since the debut album “A Place We've Never Been”, which was released last August.
Expansive, cinematic, and emotionally charged, the track warmly captures the intensity of their live sound while pushing into something powerful and transportive, in true Sun Mahshene fashion.
It was written by David Hilliard, David Murray, Ian McGinn, Nathan Henderson, and Robert Crosbie. Produced by James Aparicio.
The band said of the song, “'Life Is Joy' came together in a very instinctive way for us. It started as a simple idea and grew into this vast, alive piece that perfectly captured where we are right now as a band. It's heavier, more dynamic, and a step further into the world we've been building sonically. 'Life Is Joy' is bigger, louder, and more immersive than anything we've done before.”- They added, “This is where we're at - louder, heavier, and very much alive.
