Louis Tomlinson Performs “Lemonade” & Cover of Hozier's “Too Sweet” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

British singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform his latest song “Lemonade” and a cover of Irish singer-songwriter Hozier's “Too Sweet”.
This marks his first musical guest as a solo artist on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. As One Direction's member, he performed on Live Lounge in 2015.
“Lemonade” was released as the first single from his upcoming third studio album “How Did I Get Here?” last month
He recorded it in Costa Rica. The track was written by David Sneddon, Louis Tomlinson, Theo Hutchcraft, and Nicolas Rebscher.
Louis Tomlinson told BBC Radio 1 about the song, “I wanted for the longest time, like I really wanted to just go somewhere beautiful and write the record, because I just wanted to immerse myself in that kind of pace of life. And just like, because every time I've made records previously, there's like, a real urgency to it, and I wanted to just kind of relax a little bit. And hopefully that came across in the sound. And I think across the record, a lot of the record was actually written in Costa Rica. So it's kind of got that kind of freedom, that slow pace to it.”
He said of Costa Rica, “They've got this phrase, 'Pura Vida'. It basically just means, like, good life. People just see it like, all the time to each other. It's a really, really, real cool, people really, really fun.”- “Too Sweet” was released by Hozier from his seventh EP “Unheard” last March.
The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart. The track became his first UK number-one single and his first number one in the United States.
Louis Tomlinson said why he chose the song, “I think live arts a bit more it's a little bit more nuanced. You want to you want to do a cool pick. You want to do something that's relatively modern, but for the tour, it really is just whatever song I like, to be honest, and just hoping the fans like it.” -
The new album “How Did I Get Here?” comprises 12 tracks and is set to be released on January 23, 2026 via BMG. It his first album in four years since the 2023 album “Faith in the Future”.
Louis Tomlinson told BBC Radio 1 about the album, “Going deep, personal reflection. I think this is definitely my favorite on my own, my favorite album that I've made, because I think I was coming from a slightly different point of view. I was actually really, really excited to make this record, not that I haven't been previously. But there's a lot of pressure with that stuff. But, yes, I suppose I came into it slightly more confident point of view. So feeling good.” - source : BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge
