Inhaler Premieres New Song “Hole In The Ground” on BBC Radio 1

Irish rock band Inhaler, consisting of Elijah Hewson (vocals/guitar), Robert Keating (bass), Josh Jenkinson (guitar) and Ryan McMahon (drums), premiered a new song “Hole In The Ground” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is their first music since their third studio album “Open Wide”, which was released back in February.
The band first performed the song during their UK tour at Liverpool last week.
It was written by Elijah Hewson, Josh Jenkinson, Robert Keating, and Ryan McMahon. They recorded it with producer Kid Harpoon at Abbey Road Studios in London last year.- The band frontman Elijah Hewson said of the song, “To us, 'Hole In The Ground' is a song that was born out of our stream of consciousness. Some time away from writing allowed us to go into the studio with a sort of blank slate which felt inspiring.”
He continued, “It can be hard to talk about the meaning of our own songs sometimes but we see it as something fragile growing amongst a wreckage. Or that last blurry memory you have of a person. It's sort of a meditation on hope and keeping yourself awake to life.” -
Elijah Hewson told Jack Saunders about the song, “It was recorded like same years, 'Open Wide', same producer, Kid Harpoon, and we did it at Abbey Road. And we love it, disturbing title, but we really love it.”
He continued, “Inhaler music is usually quite joyful. It's not like doom and despair, but I think there's something like, kind of hopeful in it. I think. I think if I had to put my finger on, I'd say a sort of, I think the world is obviously, where it is. And we usually try to stay away from that. Sort of, we like, we use our music as a place to kind of escape. And I think what was different about this was just kind of like going for it head on.” - source : BBC Radio 1
