The Paper Kites Releases New Song “Shake Off The Rain”

Last month, Australian indie folk-rock band The Paper Kites, consisting of Sam Bentley (vocals/guitar/harmonica/mandolin), Christina Lacy (keyboard), David Powys (guitar), Samuel Rasmussen (bass) and Josh Bentley (drums), announced their upcoming seventh studio album “If You Go There, I Hope You Find It” would be released on January 23, 2026.
It is their first album in three years since the 2023 album “At the Roadhouse”.
From the album, the band released a new song “Shake Off The Rain” on October 24, 2025.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Every Town” and “When the Lavender Blooms”.
It was written by Sam Bentley and produced by The Paper Kites, with production by Matt Redlich.
The accompanying music video was directed by the band lead singer Sam Bentley and filmed at the farm where their upcoming album was written in Melbourne's Yarra Valley.
Sam Bentley said of the song, “Nothing to me sounded more like what I think this band is. It's rain-drenched, but hopeful, and a quiet, powerful song. I think when we recorded it, we captured something that you don't always get on a record.”- The new album comprises 10 tracks, which the band recorded with co-producer Matt Redlich at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne.
Intimate and achingly reflective, the album is guided by a longing for connection, simplicity, and emotional clarity.
Rooted in themes of nature, healing, and hope, each track unfolds like a whispered conversation, offering comfort in its vulnerability and calm in its sincerity. -
