Demi Lovato Releases New Album “It's Not That Deep”

American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato released her ninth studio album “It's Not That Deep” on October 24, 2025 via Island Records.
It marks her first album in three years since the 2022 album “Holy Fvck”.
The album comprises 11 tracks, produced by Keith Sorrells, Oscar Linnander and Zhone.
The record has a dance-pop sound, contrasting with her previous rock-leaning projects.
Demi Lovato said of the album, “This album era has been such a joyful and fun time in my life. I really feel like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. every piece of this world was created with so much love. From set to the studio, I've enjoyed every moment of this process and I hope you can feel it when you listen. I'm so glad it's finally yours to laugh, dance, and even cry to (because let's be real, I had to get *a little* deep)”- Demi Lovato told BBC Radio 1 about the album, “I'm just having fun. The whole purpose of this album is called, 'it's not that deep'. And I didn't take my songwriting approach too seriously. I wrote about fun, sexy topics, and there were some emotional ones, but for the most part, it's a departure from what I usually write about, which is, like these deeply personal songs that are emotionally heavy. And right now it's just about having fun for me.”
- Demi Lovato explained some tracks for the album.
“Fast”
“Fast is out now and I am so excited to share this song and video with you!!!! We shot this straight through the night last month and I could not be happier with how it turned out. For me, it represents how I move through life now - unbothered by the noise and chaos around me, and in control of where I'm headed.”
“Here All Night”
“'Here All Night' is a breakup song I wrote by channeling a character, and it was so freeing to step into someone else's story. From the moment we finished the song, I knew it needed to be a dance video. It's about dancing through heartbreak. It's raw and empowering, with a playful, voyeuristic point of view.”
“Frequency” via Chicks in the Office
“There's a song called 'Frequency' on the album and that was the first song that I came into the studio with and like that's when I found my sound. I was like, 'Okay, this is, there's something to this,' and I just chased that with my producer Zohne. He's incredible.”
“Kiss” via Vogue
“'Kiss' was so much fun to film. I didn't have to do any of the kissing, so it was a very easy lift for me. It didn't feel like a workday. I did what I do best besides singing, which is I locked the fuck in. The whole video I'm just staring at the camera, and it's such a high-paced song that getting to have this subdued energy where I'm just focused on the camera was really interesting. I think there may have been some new couples that walked away from that shoot, I'm not sure. But I had a feeling from some of the conversations I overheard, I was like, Oh, you're going home together tonight.” - source : Apple Music
