  • Sam Ryder Releases New Album “Heartland”

  • British singer-songwriter Sam Ryder released his sophomore album “Heartland” on October 17, 2025 via independent label Artist Theory.

This marks his first album in three yeas since the 2022 debut album “There's Nothing but Space, Man!”.
Also. It is the firs release as an independent artist.
The album comprises 13 tracks (deluxe edition 18 tracks), which he recorded at his own studio in Nashville, where he moved and built the space after parting ways with Parlophone Records.
Produced by Captain Cuts, Dalton Diehl, Doug Showalter, FEDE, Federico Vindver, Johnny Simpson, Jon Green, Mike Elizondo, Nick Lobel, Rudey, Ryan Sandlin, Sam Ryder, Steve Mac, Todd Clark and Tom Howe.

Sam Ryder said of the album, “The creation of this album came along at a time where my light felt like it was dimming the most. I hauled myself and my family over to Nashville, pitched up at our log cabin in the trees, and started writing it out with friends surrounding me. It's an emotional experience hearing it back, each song a chapter of the year and a half it took to create, marking pivotal moments of transformation and change in my life. One thing has stayed constant throughout though - a thread of hope keeping this project alive and my head above water. I hope these songs bring you the peace they were crafted with, and that you take them on your next chapters.”
  • He continued, “This record is a collection of songs attempting to convey the feeling of the last couple of years. The wish is to find a connection with you no matter where you are in the world, whether it's flying high or feeling like you're the only ship out on the ocean. If you're navigating the pain of forgiveness and the weight that comes with holding onto resentment, if you've lost confidence in yourself and you're trying to find a way back to your spark, spirit and hope, this is for you. Take to the Heartland. I'm with you every step.”

  • Sam Ryder explained some tracks for the album.

    “The Feeling Never Went Away”
It's about still having feelings for someone or something even though they perhaps don't deserve them anymore, but you can't help it, it's chemical. In my own life that finds its form in the shape of struggles or demons I've had over the past year or so, and even though I think I've conquered them, back they come. I think ultimately healing and breaking the cycle is about recognising these feelings and accepting them, and knowing that although the feeling might never go away, it doesn't define us.

    “OH OK”
“I wrote OH OK about that feeling you get when someone who was an important part of your life, that you're no longer with, is trying their hardest to make you jealous, and the ways in which we can claim our own power back while in that temporary space. Understanding the truth behind empty actions and acting rather than reacting seem to be the key to this, and I hope OH OK serves as a reminder that if you're going through it, this too shall pass.”

    “White Lies”
“It's super breezy, like the story of a road trip from Tennessee to Texas I took a few months ago, and inspired by all those golden era Hollywood westerns. I've been taking some time away, doing a lot of reflection, and came to the realisation that since everything went crazy in 2022 I'd been telling myself a lot of white lies as a coping mechanism. After 15 years trying to be successful, getting knocked back and told I wasn't good enough, I was thrown into this whole new realm of success. It's been truly incredible, but more overwhelming than I ever allowed myself to believe. And in the whirlwind of gratitude and finally feeling like I'd made it, I wasn't always being honest with myself.”

    “Suffer In Silence”
“This one is about empowering ourselves to change the things that we can control that don't feel right. It's about influencing the small space around you to make the world a better place. I hope you like it.”

    “Armour”
“Armour was initially written about someone who used to be in my life, who I parted ways with. But after playing it live for the first time recently, I realised I actually wrote it about myself, or maybe even as a reminder to myself to forgive and keep letting go. Playing it live has been where the song has gained life and meaning, and releasing it is my small way of saying thank you for helping me regain some peace.”

    “Better Man”
“Better man is a song about the people who inspire us to be or do better. It can be the big things or small things in life that motivate us to make those changes, but at the heart of it is wanting to be the best version of ourselves to share a beautiful life with someone.”

    “Go Steady” From BBC's Parenthood
“It's such an honour to have worked on something for Sir David Attenborough, he's an icon! Creating this piece of music was the most beautiful process, topped off by recording it live at Abbey Road Studios - it couldn't get much better. I hope everyone can see themselves in moments in this song, whichever form your parenthood takes.”
