  • Lewis Capaldi Performs New Song “Almost” & Cover of Paramore's “Still Into You” on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

  • Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi appeared on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform “Almost”, “Something In The Heavens”, “Pointless” and a cover of American rock band Paramore's “Still Into You”.

This marks his first performance on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge in three years since 2022.
“Almost” is his upcoming new song, following “Something In The Heavens” released last month.
Two songs and another one, “The Day That I Die” will appear on his upcoming EP “Survive”, which is expected to be released later this year.
“Pointless” was released as the second single from his second studio album “Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent” in 2022. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
“Still Into You” was released by Paramore as the second single from their self-titled fourth studio album in 2013.

Lewis Capaldi said of “Still Into You”, “I just love Paramore. I love Hayley Williams. We were on tour recently, and just sort of knocking around ideas, and then this one popped his head up, and it just felt like a no brainer. So here we are.”
  • Lewis Capaldi told Jack Saunders of BBC Radio 1 about the new song “Almost”, “Just a song that I was sort of that sort of feeling of getting, trying to get over someone, and sort of kidding yourself on that you're sort of that you're getting to that place, and you're kidding yourself on that things of that you're getting better. And I found that a lot with my when I was off for a bit as well, not just in terms of my release, my last relationship, but in terms of, like, there were a lot of times when I was convincing myself I was getting better, in lots of ways, whether that was mentally or thinking, and actually I was sort of telling myself a story in my head to make myself feel better. So I think that's kind of what almost talks about. I wrote it with my piano player, Aiden Halliday, a guy called Todd Clark, who's out in Nashville, and Ines Dunn, who's an incredible songwriter. And it was just a really fun couple of days. And it was like a good buzz.”

  • He said of the EP and upcoming album, “I think I tried to balance it more on this EP than I will on future projects. And this EP, I definitely felt like I want to come back. I want to try and sort of explore maybe different avenues in terms of, like the next song that I play on Live Lounge, 'The Day That I Die', so much more personal song about my mental health and stuff. And I want to try and explore different avenues. My song 'Something In The Heavens', I'm singing falsetto. I've never done that before, but I definitely wanted to kind of keep the familiarity of what had gone before in the last records and stuff. But I think moving forward, I'm definitely, I am going to consider what is expected of me a great deal less, or what people expect to hear a great deal less. I mean, I think I'll probably start working on it in January, and then, hopefully I'd like to have out by end of summer or something. So we'll see what happens.”
