  • Lauren Jauregui Returns With New Song “Ego”

  • American singer-songwriter and former Fifth Harmony, Lauren Jauregui returned with a new song “Ego” on October 17, 2025.

The song is her first solo music in over a year since “Burning”, which was released last March.
Also, the track will appear on her upcoming debut solo album. The album is the first release as an independent artists.
The track was written by Alexsej Vlasenko, Lauren Jauregui, Marcus Lomax, Matthew T. Wiggers, and Oliver Peterhof. Produced by Matthew T. Wiggers, Oliver Peterhof, and Alexsej Vlasenko.

Lauren Jauregui told EUPHORIA. Magazine about the song, “With this song, I heard the guitar lick that was the first thing that was there in the track. It automatically made me feel something. Usually, that's kind of how I go when I'm in the room with producers playing me beats or loops and whatever it is that I hear that makes me feel something, I'll be like 'stop, let me try to write to this'. Marc and I started writing, and the thing that was coming to me was 'lay down your ego,' and I was 'okay, wait that sounds like something', so we just expanded it.”
  • She shared on social media, “I pray Ego finds you wherever you are and reflects something back to you, I hope it makes you smile or cry if you need to. I hope you can skate, kiss, cozy in front of a fire, dance, drive, run, walk, wheel around & play with her! I hope it sparks a conversation with a loved one or yourself! I hope she finds her way into your most precious memories of yourself and those you love. First song off this album for you. May we all lay down our egos and find us some honest love.”

  • The debut album is her first project following two EPs “PRELUDE” and “In Between” It was inspired by Avril Lavigne, Fall Out Boy, and Paramore.

She told Rolling Stone about the album, “I'll always be a pop girlie in my heart, but I have to get my rock off, if you will. I have a lot to say, and I feel like rock is just such a great medium to express angst and vulnerability, and alternative realms allow me to incorporate the things that make me me. I'm always going to give you a soulful vocal.”
