  • Leigh-Anne Announces Debut Album “My Ego Told Me To”, Shares New Song “Dead and Gone”

  • British singer-songwriter and former Little Mix, Leigh-Anne has announced her upcoming debut solo album “My Ego Told Me To” will be released on February 20, 2026.

The album comprises 15 tracks, featuring collaborations with Clarence “Coffee” Jr., Owen Cutts, Khris Riddick, and Fred Ball.
It combines pop, R&B, dancehall, and reggae, reflecting her Caribbean heritage.

Leigh-Anne said of the album, “This album is the truest representation of me as an artist. Versatile, rooted in reggae and my heritage, but stamped with pop. It's personal and impossible to box in. I wanted it to feel authentic, blending the genres I love with a sound that's distinctly mine. It's also a statement: standing by my art and doing it my way. These are songs I'll be proud of in five, ten years, because they reflect exactly where I was. You'll hear my world in it, my daughters, my marriage, my fight for power, and the moment I embraced my fire side and said: no more. This is my show now.”

From the album, she unveiled a new song “Dead and Gone” on October 17, 2025.
The song is the third single off, following “Burning Up” and Been A Minute.”
It was written by Clarence Coffee Jr., Kevin Hickey, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Owen Cutts. Produced by Clarence Coffee Jr. and Owen CuttsZhone.
The accompanying music visualiser was directed by Franck Trozzo Kazagui.
  • Leigh-Anne said of the song, “Dead and Gone is about letting go of the version of myself that played it safe for too long, the version that cared too much for what other people think. Killing off the old me so I can make room for the freer, fiercer and more honest version of myself. Dead and Gone is bold, raw and unapologetic. The sound of me truly stepping into my power.”

She continued, “This feels like a turning point. It's a battle between two versions of myself, burying the part that lived for validation, that shrank to make others comfortable... and her... my ego. The bold, fearless, unapologetic side that's been waiting to take control for a long time. Not reborn, just revived.”

  • She added, “I wrote this at a time when I felt completely overlooked by my previous label. I needed to unleash a different side of me one that could act as my protection. She rose from anger and frustration, but ultimately that anger turned into empowerment... because she's reminded me of my power, and everything I'm capable of. HAVE to shout out Owen Cutts and Coffee you heard me, we said fuck the briefs, and you helped me carve out the sound and lane I'd been searching for. Obsessed with you both and the magic we've created (and there's more to come.”
