Cat Burns Releases New Song “Please Don't Hate Me”

London-based singer-songwriter Cat Burns will release her upcoming sophomore album “How To Be Human” on October 31, 2025 via RCA Records.
From the album, she unveiled the fifth single called “Please Don't Hate Me” on October 17, 2025, following “There's Just Something About Her”, “All This Love”, “Lavender”, and “GIRLS!”.
The song arrived while Cat Burns appeared on the BBC reality television series “The Celebrity Traitors”, alongside comedian Alan Carr and Jonathan Ross.
The track was written by Cat Burns, Will Hargreaves, and William James Watson. Produced by Humble the Great. The accompanying music visualiser was filmed by Henry Croston.- Cat Burns told Apple Music about song, “‘Please Don’t Hate Me’ is about the guilt you can feel for moving on. When you come out of a relationship, especially if it was long-term, you feel a level of loyalty towards that person. Sometimes, you can feel like, if you move on, you’re cheating on them, because you’ve been with them for so long. Allowing yourself to be loved by somebody else and to love somebody else can make you feel guilty. With people’s first loves, you think you’re going to be with that person forever and that’s why your heart breaks. I’m saying, ‘I don’t regret our relationship’ because I’m writing from an ending where no one did anything wrong and it was just life.”

The new album comprises 16 tracks, produced by Humble the Great, Jonah Summerfield, Jordan Riley, Kurisu and Rob Milton.
Cat Burns said of the album, “I went through a real ego death last year after losing my grandad and going through a breakup at the same time. While I was in the storm I knew I wanted to document my experience in song form, to show the reality of how hard it was, but also so I could see if would ever get out of it, because if I'm being honest I really didn't think I was gonna get through that time of my life. It's honest, it's uncomfortable, and it's really scary for me to release, but that is true art to me. if it doesn't cost you anything then what's the point?” - source : Apple Music
