  • Jessie Ware Premieres New Song “Free Yourself” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Jessie Ware premiered a new song “Free Yourself” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.

The song is her first single since the 2020 fourth studio album “What's Your Pleasure?”.
She first performed the song at Glastonbury 2022 back in June.
It was written by Jessie Ware, Stuart Price and Clarence Coffee Jr.
Jessie Ware said of the song in a statement. “I wrote it on the same day as I wrote another tune that you are yet to hear, on my first studio date with the incomparable Stuart Price and my old mate, Coffee. It was easy, fun and I think we were all surprised when I went in for the belter chorus!”
She continued, “'Free Yourself' is the beginning of a new era for me. I'm so excited for people to have this song for the end of their summer; to dance, to feel no inhibitions, and to feel joyful because that's how I've been feeling recently being able to tour again and being able to sing again. Enjoy yourself, Free Yourself!”

She co-produced with Stuart Price the song. She told Clara Amfo about working with Stuart Price, “He wanted to work with me and I was like, I don't know if it's gonna work because I you know, these super producers. I don't know I'm in my little bubble in the attic with James Ford, who is also a super producer and is wonderful, who did the last record and I was like, I don't know if it's gonna work and I've got my crew. And then I was like, You know what, I'm an idiot. And of course I'm gonna do it because it's Stewart price. And he was unbelievably fantastic, generous, enthusiastic. I wrote with my friend coffee, who I wrote on the last record with who's done Dua Lipa's stuff with her. And this actually was a song, a second song that we wrote on the day. And we did this. He was like, can you just listen to this? And we wrote it in like half an hour. It just had this energy. But yeah, we've been teasing this for long enough. It needs to just come out.”
