Zella Day Shares New Song “My Game”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Zella Day has shared a new song “My Game” from her upcoming third EP “Where Does the Devil Hide”, following “People Are Strangers”.
The song was co-written and produced by Dan Auerbach. The accompanying music video was directed by Phillip Lopez. It is inspired from ’60s spy film like 007.
“It’s its own microcosm of music,” Zella Day told American Songwriter. “‘My Game’ is nothing like ‘People are Strangers,’ which is nothing like ‘Purple Haze.’ There’s a little something for everybody and a little something for myself, to set myself up for success. It’s about playing the music and being excited to experience the highs and lows, the mountains and the valleys of the subject matter, so that when I’m playing the music live, there are shifts in the energy and dynamics that I can get lost in.”
The EP is a collection of five songs written and recorded in four days. It set to be released on August 28th.- source : American Songwriter
