Jessie Reyez Releases New Song “Far Away”
- Canadian singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez collaborated with American rapper 6Lack for “Imported” back in April.
The song was re-worked from her last EP “Being Human in Public”. In the same month, she appeared on Netflix's film "Someone Great" as a cameo.
Following the song, she released a new song “Far Away” on October 4th.
The track is like '80s contemporary pop sound and she wrote it with Vegyn. She said of the song, “We’re all in the room together before anythings been created. We’re all in the room together, and then, Vegyn was over here by the control board. And I think both of them were on keyboards but with different sounds, and just pulling it up. It’s just so cool when its like organic. So, we found a pocket that we liked and I was like, “All right, cool.” And I was just on the couch. And once I found the pocket, I stood up and I started walking around and I started singing the lyrics. It’s really dope when its like that, when you don’t have to write. Because sometimes, you have to write shit down. Sometimes, as the inspiration is like a faucet and God opens it, and it’s like, “Ahhh”. And it just comes out and you don’t have to write shit. And then, sometimes it’s drips and you have to build a song. But that day, the faucet was open so it was just like a vibe."
- She will perform at The Winter Garden Theater in Toronto on October 21st, Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn on October 23rd, The Novo DTLA in Los Angeles on October 24th and Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium in San Antonio on October 26th.
Afterwards, she will embark on Europe tour in November.
