Lindsey Stirling Releases New Album “Artemis”: Streaming
- American violinist, Lindsey Stirling released her fifth album “Artemis” on September 6, 2019. It is her first album since 2017 "Warmer in the Winter".
The album features guest appearances from American singer-songwriter Elle King and Amy Lee of Evanescence. The album title “Artemis”, which is the daughter of Zeus and is the goddess of the moon. The cover design of the album is inspired from Japanese manga.
She said of the album, “One of the best examples of perseverance is the moon. Time and time again she gets covered in shadow and if one didn’t know better, it would sometimes seem as though she ceased to exist. There have been times of my life where I have felt completely overcome by the “shadow” of grief, or depression; I felt like I’d never feel full happiness again. But the moon has taught me a powerful lesson. Just because she gets covered in shadow doesn’t mean she isn’t still there… and that she won’t fight back to reclaim her full light. Artemis is the goddess of the moon. This album tells her story; it tells my story; I think it tells everyone’s story.”
After the release of the album, she dropped a new music video for "The Upside" featuring Elle King, directed by Tom Teller and Brodin Plett.
She said, “It was an instrumental first, which we released as well. But when we wrote the demo, we had no idea what kind of a singer we wanted on it. It was very up in the air, but I always wanted to work with Elle [King]. So we reached out to her, she was one of the first people. When she came back excited about it, I was so happy. I’ve loved her ever since “Ex’s and Oh’s."
