  • The Silver Lake Chorus Release New Song “Not Not”

  • Last month, Los Angeles-based chorus group The Silver Lake Chorus released the song “Tabu” for the first time in four years. The track was premiered exclusively on Billboard.

Following the song, the group released a new song “Not Not” with an accompanying music video, directed by Arden Grier on June 4th.
“’Not Not’ features the women of The Silver Lake Chorus, so we wanted to give the video a distinctly feminine feel and focus on a non-traditional love story,” Alto vocalist Lijah Barasz told Relix of the video. “Our director, Arden Grier, brought her unique vision to the song’s message, highlighting the way women move through the world often feeling scrutinized and not supported, and in the end emphasizing self-love and acceptance. That message really resonated with us.”
  • The Silver Lake Chorus was formed in 2010 as a 20- to 25-piece choral group. The group specializes in indie rock songs, arranged in the spirit of alternative and independent music with guitars, synths, percussion, strings, and more among varied instrumental accompaniment.
The group released their self-titled debut album in 2015, in which Sia, Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips, Ben Gibbard, Ben Lee, Aimee Mann, A.C. Newman, John Roderick, Tegan and Sara, Justin Vernon, and the Bird and the Bee contributed songs.
