Lana Del Rey Covers Sublime's “Doin’ Time”
- On May 15th, American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey posted a teaser trailer for the upcoming documentary “Sublime”, which is a film following the story of the eponymous '90s trio. Also she dropped a cover of the band, “Doin’ Time”.
The film was directed by Bill Guttentag and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April.
“Doin’ Time” was released by Sublime from their self-titled third album in 1996. It is a loose cover of "Summertime" by George Gershwin, composed for the opera Porgy and Bess.
Lana Del Rey will release her 6th studio album "Norman Fucking Rockwell". The album was preceded by "Mariners Apartment Complex", "Venice Bitch" and "Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman like Me to Have – but I Have It".
So far, it is not confirmed whether “Doin’ Time” is featuring on the album or is stand-alone single.
