Weezer Covers “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” featuring Tears for Fears on Jimmy Kimmel Live
- Los Angeles-based rock band Weezer covered Tears for Fears' 1985 song “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The band played the song along with Tears for Fears after performance at Coachella, where Tears for Fears and TLC’s Chilli performed with Weezer.
Weezer released the twelfth studio album "Weezer (Teal Album) back in January, featuring 10-track cover song including TOTO's "Africa", Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".
The original version of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” was released in 1985 from Tears for Fears' second album "Songs from the Big Chair".
The song reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the UK Singles chart.
Weezer will hit Indio next weekend for round two of Coachella, followed by Summer Sonic in Japan and Rock in Rio in Brazil. They also have a slate of dates in Europe and a few shows in Latin America alongside Foo Fighters.
