Jon Bellion Premieres New Music Video for “Stupid Deep”
- Last November, New York City-based rapper Jon Bellion released his sophomore album “Glory Sound Prep”. From the album, the third single off “Stupid Deep” was released.
He revealed behind the scenes footage of the song in December 2018 and dropped an acoustic version of it back in January.
On March 21st, he unveiled the official music video for the song, directed by Daniel Brown.
Jon Bellion said of the song, “Once that first stanza was written, I was like, there’s nothing else for me to say. I’m just looking at these lyrics, like, “Yo, is this my life? Has everything I’ve ever done been because I have a giant gap in my heart that I need attention and love from people?” Like, damn, it’s seems like such a simple equation, but is that what everybody’s doing? If we just threw that down and said hello to people… I know people feel this way, but they don’t wanna talk about it.”
He continued, “We’re too busy. We don’t have a moment, and the second we do have a moment? We have to go do something else ‘cause we don’t even like ourselves. We’re not taking the time to be like, “How are you? How are you doing?” We just don’t wanna do it. My heart hurts, too. I want people to love me, too, and sometimes I don’t feel that love. I get self conscious, I get this, I get that, but we don’t take the time to explain that to people.”
