The Cranberries Premieres New Song “Wake Me When It’s Over”
- Irish rock band The Cranberries has released a new song “Wake Me When It’s Over” from their upcoming final album “In the End”, which is due out April 26.
“This was a song Dolores had been working on for a little while,” lead guitarist Noel Hogan described the song, “It’s a fun song to play and it’s bright and quite uplifting. It’s very much a classic Dolores song with a soft verse and a massive chorus.”
The song is the follow-up to “All Over Now” and “The Pressure”.
Last year, lead singer Dolores O'Riordan died, then the band decided to be no longer act after the release of the final album.
“It’s come up as well, ‘Well, find another singer,’” Noel Hogan told Rolling Stone. “I don’t think people who say that fully get it. Maybe they think they’re being nice or something. It’s not something we’re ever going to entertain. I think the band accomplished a lot, and I think we’ll leave it on a high with this album.”
