Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Normani Performs “Waves” featuring 6LACK on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Former member of Fifth Harmony, Normani and American rapper 6LACK appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where they performed latest collaboration song “Waves”.
The song was released last November. It was written by Normani, Felicia Ferraro, Mary Weitz and 6LACK.
Normani said of the song, “I feel like we’re taking a different direction, especially musically in the R&B space. And I think that “Waves” definitely does set the tone for the direction that we are taking.”
After the release of the song, she collaborated with British singer Sam Smith on his song "Dancing with a Stranger" back in January.
“There was some uncertainty,” she said. “It’s a big deal putting out music that’s different from what everybody’s used to hearing from you, or seeing you as. [“Love Lies”] is a slower, mellower song among all the big, up-tempo hip-hop records right now that are really dominating, like Migos. But I think it is a real moment for R&B. There’s so much great music, like Ella [Mai], SZA, Khalid — and I’m excited to be a part of that.”- source : Rolling Stone
