Butcher & The Florist Premieres Debut Song “Ordinary Love”
- American electro-pop duo Butcher & The Florist released their debut song “Ordinary Love” with an accompanying music video, created by XBT91.
The dance-ready track is layered with gritty synths and rich vocals.
Butcher & The Florist is composed of Kendel Lester and Jody Miller. Their music blends dark-noir synths, trap beats, and indelible pop hooks, which brings the new R&R and EDM sound.
“It's the perfect blend of light and dark. The song was actually one of the first songs we wrote for this project!,” The duo explained the song on an email. “We both come from a background of rock music but really wanted to start making music that was fun, upbeat and allowed us to explore a new sound. We've loved keeping some of the grittiness of the rock n roll we grew up with but mixing it with bright synths and driving beats.”
- The duo added, “We actually got married in August of 2018 and this song really seemed to resonate with us in regards to our own relationship. We've been together for 7 years now and I think we both agree that when you find that one person that you want to spend the rest of your life with it doesn't feel ordinary or like any relationship you've had in the past and that's what Ordinary Love is all about.”
