Nicki Minaj Premieres New Music Video for “Hard White”
- American rapper Nicki Minaj has dropped a new music video for “Hard White” from her fourth studio album “Queen”.
The video was directed by Mike Ho, who recent crafted the video for Ally Brooke's “Low Key”.
The song was Leaked in April 2018 under the title “Half Back”. She recorded the song early 2017 during Paris Fashion Week.
But she finally renamed and remastered to be featured on "Queen". It was written by Nicki Minaj, Matthew Samuels, Ramon Ibanga Jr. and Brittany Hazzard. Produced by !llmind and Boi-1da.
- Producer !llmind said of the song, “From what I remember, I think Boi-1da finished it like I wanna say summer of last year or maybe even earlier. I remember working on some of the melodies for that song back in late 2016 early 2017. When me and Boi-1da collaborate, we don’t really know who the artist is yet, we kind of just work on beats. That was one of those beats that we worked on. He sent it over to Nicki and she used it and it came out crazy. I wasn’t able to be in the studio when she did it, but I knew it was coming out at some point. It’s funny because the original title of the track was different. It wasn’t “Hard White.” It was called “Half Back.”
Nicki Minaj will embarks on European tour in support of "Queen". The tour kicks off at Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany on February 21, 2019 and will conclude at Hallenstadion in Geneva, Switzerland on March 28th.
