Mark Kingswood Premieres New Music Video for “Shine On”
- London-based singer-songwriter Mark Kingswood released his debut album "Strong" back in March.
From the album, he has dropped a new music video for “Shine On”.
Mark Kingswood said of the song, “The song 'Shine On' means a lot to me and my family. It’s about those that have such a profound impact on our lives, that even when they are gone and no longer living, they always remain with us in our memories and shine on through us.”
The album comprises of 13-track, featuring contemporary pop and Jazz songs like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Michael Bublé, as well as including cover songs of REM’s “Losing My Religion” and George Michael’s “One More Try”.
He talked about his music, "I am most inspired by great voices and great arrangements so certainly artists like Tony Bennet, Josh Groban, George Michael, Michael Bublé, David Foster’s roster of artists etc. I guess that discovering music mainly in the 90’s for me growing up, probably made a big impact on me and shaped some of my musical direction. However the other half I’d say comes from spending time with my grandparents. I’d visit them often growing up and so I was always surrounded by the great music of Matt Monro, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennet and of course, Frank Sinatra. This in turn also had an impact on me."
Mark Kingswood is currently working on his second album, which is expected to be released in 2019. "I am however spending a lot of time also working on my second album," he said.
Mark Kingswood will perform at Le Club\ Square DIX30 in Canada on November 16th and Place des Arts in Montreal on Novemver 24th.
