Marlene Oak Premieres New Song “Slip Away” on SoundCloud
- Swedish singer-songwriter Marlene Oak has delivered a new song “Slip Away” via SoundCloud.
The song is her first single in two years. Also it is following the studio live EP "Head Held High".
The track is '60s sound unlike previous song "How Long". It seems to one take recording style like live performance.
Marlene Oak said of the song, “It’s about a hideaway and a break from the day-to-day routines that we all get stuck in. I wanted to capture that feeling of floating and swaying away, to just be able to let go for a moment and simply… slip away”
The song will appear on her sophomore EP, which is expected to be released in 2019.
- Marlene Oak debuted with her first song "How Long" in 2016.
After the debut, she has suppoterd of Miss Li, Whitney Rose, Susto's tour as opening act.
Also, she performed at festivals such as Way Out West, STHLM Americana and Irisfestivalen.
“My favorite part about being a music creator is playing live. When you play live, there’s something magical happening. Music in itself is magic, and when you stand there and sing your self-written songs, an invisible bond between me and the audience sort of forms. There’s some sort of connection that’s like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. It’s truly amazing,” she said.
She released the first EP "Head Held High (Studio Live Sessions)" in December 2016.
