  • Astrid S Premieres New Song “Emotion”

  • Norwegian singer-songwriter Astrid S has unveiled a new song “Emotion” from her upcoming debut album (yet-untitled), which is expected to be released in early 2019.
She wrote the song with Jakob Jerlström and a producer Ali Payami last March. The song follows up previous single “Think Before I Talk”.
At the first, she was supposed to release either “Emotion” or “Think Before I Talk” as the lead single from the debut album.
Finally, “Think Before I Talk” was released last August, but it’s a one-off song.

“We had a day in the studio scheduled in March 2017. It was the first time working with Jacob and Ali, and I remember I was a little bit nervous – they’ve made so many great songs,” Astrid S said of the song. “We talked for a while to get to know each other, and later Ali played me some different tracks that he had been working on. The bass and piano for Emotion was one of them, and it immediately stood out. I asked if I could go on the mike and improvise some melodies – which I ended up doing for a while. But the first thing that came out was the chorus and the lyrics “Did you forget? I’ve got a thing called emotion”. I was a little shy singing melodies, so I would whistle some of them – which we ended up keeping!”
  • She has already filmed a music video for the song, which will be released shortly.
“I spent the past three days shooting it there. But it’s a music video that is relying a lot on the post-production, so I have no idea what it’s gonna look like, if it’s gonna look good or not. That is kind of scary. But I think you have to take chances and that’s what’s gonna take me a step further. So we’ll see how it turns out, but I think it’s gonna be really good,” she said.
