Canadian alt-rock band Metric has dropped a new music video for “Now or Never Now” from their seventh studio album “Art of Doubt”.
The song preceded the album on September 4th. It was written by James Shaw, Emily Haines, Joules Scott and Joshua Winstead.
The video was directed by Lorraine Nicholson and Emily Haines.
“Many music videos take place in night clubs,” a director Lorraine Nicholson said in a press release. “[But] very few depict them as they so often are: pensive, dark and depressing.”
Emily Haines added, “This was a night shoot leading to dawn, as Lorraine wanted to place the video in those most questionable hours of the morning…I’m profoundly lost and alone with random uncaring strangers…the rest of the band is on an urgent quest to find me and rescue me from this sad existence, but they always arrive too late.”- The album is their first LP in three years and comprises of 12-track. The album was produced by Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and recorded at EastWest Studios in Los Angeles, and at Metric's own studio, Giant Studio in Toronto. The album design and cover are designed by longtime Metric collaborator Justin Broadbent.
Metric heads overseas next month for a headlining tour that launches in Moscow, Russia, on October 25th, with a North American leg to be announced soon.
