Paul McCartney Performs “Come On to Me” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Paul McCartney appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he performed “Come On to Me”.
He released the 17th solo studio album "Egypt Station" on September 7th. The song is the second single off of the album
Paul McCartney described the song, "raucous stomper that fans that first spark of chemistry into a rocking blaze."
He first performed the song at a surprise intimate show at Liverpool's Philharmonic Dining Rooms on June 9th, as part of the taping of his "Carpool Karaoke" segment for The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Paul McCartney said of his songwriting process in an interview, “The good thing about songs is if you are in a bad mood, it’s a great thing to do. It’s like a therapy for yourself,” McCartney said. “If you’re feeling bad, you can go off somewhere with your guitar, and you can begin telling your troubles to the guitar and you can work out your problem. Normally, you get a bit optimistic toward the end of it, and suddenly you have a song. And you feel better.”
He talked how he approached recording the new album differently, “We can’t really do the modern pop album where it’s a bunch of singles, people like Taylor Swift and Beyonce have got that type of thing covered. And they have better legs than me.”
Paul McCartney will embark on #FreshenUpTour in North America, Japan, Europe and the UK in 2018 and 2019. The tour kicks off at Centre Vidéotron in Quebec, Canada on September 17th.
