Nashville-based singer-songwriter Claudia Christensen, aka RAYNA has shared a new music video for “Sinking”. The video was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The song is her debut single featuring New Jersey-based rapper Indy.
On the song, she sheds light on abusive relationships, a director Slater Goodson created deep footages, in which abusive partners break the boundaries of trust, but to impose affection on their partner again.
The 21-year-old singer told Billboard about the song;
“If one person can hear this song and feel the message within the music, then it’s served its purpose.
The song is about the cyclical nature of abusive relationships, the constant lies and apologies that manipulate you into staying in a relationship where you feel like you’re literally sinking underwater. It’s about the confusion and pain that comes with that, while still going back to that person because you love them.”- Claudia Christensen was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved to Nashville because of its rising pop scene and debuted as RAYNA.
Her music is influenced from Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Sia, Banks, Lorde and others.
Through writing and creating music, she hopes to remind people that they are not alone, especially those in the LGBTQ+ community.
She is also an advocate for animal rights, female empowerment, environmental consciousness, equity, and mental health awareness. - source : Billboard
