  • Nicki Minaj Premieres New Song “Sorry” featuring Nas

  • Last week, American rapper Nicki Minaj released the fourth studio album "Queen" for the first time in four years.

On August 12, American disc jockey Funkmaster Flex premiered her new song “Sorry” featuring Nas on Hot 97. It is not included on her latest album.
An original of the song is Tracy Chapman's "Baby Can I hold you", which was released in 1988.
Nicki Minaj's version sampled from Jamaican reggae singer Foxy Brown’s “Sorry”, which was released in 1989.
Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj and her team debated whether to further delay the release "Queen" while trying to clear Chapman's "Baby Can I Hold You." She decided to release to August 17, but ended up releasing the album without "Sorry" earlier.
“Sorry” is a love song of sorts between Minaj and Nas, who dated for eight months before breaking up in January 2018.
The album "Queen" features guest appearances from Eminem, Future, Ariana Grande, the Weeknd and a spotlight-stealing Swae Lee. The album also contains “Barbie Dreams,” where Minaj roasts numerous A-list rappers.
