BROODS Premieres New Song “Peach”
- New Zealand synth-pop duo BROODS unveiled a new song “Peach” as the first single from their forthcoming third studio album.
Also the song is the first release song from their new record label Neon Gold/Atlantic. Recently, the duo signed to Neon Gold after leaving Capitol.
Previously, Caleb Nott of the duo told NZ Herald about a new contract with Neon Gold, “We were able to do everything that we wanted to do because we didn’t have anyone breathing down our neck, telling us no. It was the most freeing experience… there were no rules."
Georgia Nott added, "I think we wanted to be something different than what they saw us being. They signed us to be a huge pop act, and that doesn’t come naturally to us.”
The duo wrote the song with Tommy English in Nashville last November. Georgia Nott said, "The fruit symbolizes the warm-and-fuzzy feeling of releasing anxiety. It is soft and it’s sweet, but not sour or too intense."
The new album (yet-untitled) is expected to be released in 2019.
Georgia Nott told Billboard about the album, "Our alter egos are basically better versions of ourselves now, not different versions of ourselves. Every song [on the album] makes us feel proud and warm, and fills up this area right here."
