S U M Premieres New Song “It's Alright To Be Me” on SoundCloud
New York-based Jazz/Soul band S U M has delivered a new song “It's Alright To Be Me” via SoundCloud.
The song will appear on their upcoming self-titled debut album, which is set to be released in September 2018.
The band has already shot a music video for it, which will be premiered shortly.
The track is like Broadway musical song. But the sound is so sophisticated with Jazz and R&B.
Lyrically, the song explains what the word "sum" means, latin for “I” or “To Be”, all the while defining the band and their philosophy. It was written and arranged by Steve Belvilus.
Steve Belvilus said, "So what does SUM mean? We were asked so many times the question that I wrote a song explaining everything!"
S U M was formed in 2015, currently member consists of Steve Belvilus (Drums, Composer, Musical Director, Manager), Patryce Williams (Vocals), Joel Desroches (Piano), Olivier R. (Keys), Andrew Gould (Sax), Gil "XL" Defay (Trumpet) and Francesco Beccaro (Bass).
The band has already released a debut EP, which features guest appearances form Jacques Schwarz Bart and DJ Raydar Ellis.
The band will perform at Rockwood Music Hall in New York on July 27, at Zen barn in Waterbury on August 18, and at Le Baiser Salé in Paris on October 13.
