- Dawes Performs New Songs “Living In The Future” and “Crack The Case” on Jimmy Kimmel Live
- American rock band Dawes appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on July 10th, where the band performed two new songs “Living In The Future” and “Crack The Case”.
Both songs released back in May and appeared on their sixth studio album "Passwords", which was released on June 22, 2018.
“Living In The Future” is the first track of the album. The music video for it was directed by Grant James, who has also created videos for Father John Misty and Tedeschi Trucks Band, among others.
“Crack The Case” was written by Taylor Goldsmith.
Frontman Taylor Goldsmith said of “Crack The Case”;
“With ‘Crack the Case,’ I didn’t want to answer anything because I don’t know if a song is enough to do that. A song is a song, at the end of the day. But that song is a suggestion of an approach for myself. I can come to a conversation and I can hear where somebody else is coming from without immediately saying, ‘I can’t believe that you would think these ways.’ And rather than judging and alienating others, I do think there’s an opportunity that no one is taking, myself included, to actually understand why somebody is coming from a certain place.”
