Leon of Athens Premieres New Song “Xenos”
London-based Greek indie-pop singer-songwriter Leon Veremis, aka Leon of Athens has released a new song “Xenos” from his third studio album of the same name.
Originally, the song was released in 2017, but after published the album in Europe, he re-released the song on June 15th in the US.
The music video for the song, directed by Yiannis Dimolitsas, was premiered in February 2018.
The album is a record interested in estrangement, displacement, politics, and one hinged on Europe’s refugee crisis.
He has currently toured in the US through to June 29th. He will back in the US in November to resume the tour.

Leon Veremis said of the song;
“’Xenos’ was initially inspired by the genocide of indigenous peoples. The song refers to any oppressed group of people who are forced to leave their land. On a personal note, it also refers to the feeling of being a stranger to your own self.”- source : CLASH
