A Perfect Circle Premieres New Music Video for “The Contrarian” (2D Version of Hologram Video)
- American rock band A Perfect Circle has premiered a new 360-degree video for “The Contrarian”. The song is included on their fourth studio album "Eat the Elephant", which was released on April 20, 2018.
Last month, the band also released a 2D video for "TalkTalk" adapting a segment of Sebring's film.
Singer Maynard James Keenan told Billboard about his vision behind the hologram film;
"It is very much a combined experience of the tactile and the visual. I come from an era where the physical pieces [of music] were something that you cherished. Double-gate foldout with the big images, the interaction of putting vinyl on a turntable I think is lost in the digital age … Something like this brings back that visual excitement for people."
- The album "Eat the Elephant" is their first LP in 12 years since "Emotive". The band started to record the project in 2008, but progress was slow. In 2017, music producer Dave Sardy helped produce the record, and the album was completed in early 2018.
The band is currently touring in Europe before returning to the United States for dates in the fall.
