London-based singer-songwriter Charli XCX has delivered a new song “5 In The Morning” via streaming music services.
She performed the song for the first time at Taylor Swift’s Reputation World Tour in in Glendale, Arizona on May 8, 2018. It was written by Nat Dunn, Jeff Young, Cleo Tighe, The Invisible Men and Charli XCX.
She tweeted, "I am going to release a lot [of] music this year and a lot of videos. You're gonna be so fucking sick of me." before she dropped the track. The sound is blending with pop and rap music like Rihanna.
The song follows up her fourth mixtape "Pop 2", which was released last December.
She has currently supported Taylor Swift's Reputation tour alongside Camila Cabello. The tour takes place in North America, the UK, Oceania and Japan through to November.
Learn more about tour dates, click here.- Recently, she contributed "Girls" to Rita Ora, also Charli XCX performed as vocals along with Cardi B and Bebe Rexha on the track.
But the LGBTQ community criticised the song as "fueled the male gaze while marginalizing the idea of women loving women."
She told Rolling Stone;
"I've known Rita for a very long time in this particular journey and in this particular story in her life. I would never want to take anyone's space in pop music, but Rita is somebody I've known for a very long time who has had queer experiences and [I felt] that perhaps this is a safe space for me to be on this record.
