  • No Rome Premieres New Song “Do It Again”

  • London-based Filipino singer-songwriter Rome Gomez, aka No Rome has released a new song “Do It Again”.

    The song is taken from his upcoming EP "RIP Indo Hisashi", which is expected to be released in 2018. The track was co-produced by The 1975's Matt Healy and George Daniel.
    Rome Gomez signed to Dirty Hit, which is the same label as The 1975. Beafore Dirty Hit, he has released two EPs "Fantasy" and "Hurry Home & Rest" in 2013 and 2015 respectively.
    The new EP "RIP Indo Hisashi" comprises of 4-track including "Narcissist" featuring The 1975.

    No Rome said of the song;
    "It's been awhile since I met them (The 1975) in London. We just started hanging out, kicking it off, just finding similar interests. We became mates and we started working together. It was more about perception of music [and the way] we kind of saw it as an art form as well. There was so much effort being put into a song, that we would like, for people to also ingest in. Not just like listen to it. We put that much effort and treat it as a form of art. It's like meddling around with the capability of pop music, try[ing] to see the extent we can go - like bending genres, finding more reasons to kind of explore and expand the idea."

    Matt Healy said of No Rome in a new Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe;
    “It’s so exciting to be working with him. I just fell in love with it completely. I’d never seen him, I didn’t know who he was or anything. I flew him over to the UK because I was just too excited, and when I get that excited then I know that I’ve got to do it. We moved it over and signed him to Dirty Hit, and the rest was history.
    We've never written with anybody, we've rarely even used other producers. This record, because we’re producing it ourselves and engineering it ourselves, Rome kind of became a bit of a muse of mine. His ideas were on parallel to anything me and George were doing. So I just wanted that energy in the studio.”

  • Matt Healy continued;
    "We’ve got a video, well it’s coming out soon... I mean we've never written with anybody I mean we’ve never really even used other producers and this record because we producing it ourselves and engineering it ourselves.
    Rome kind of became a bit of a muse of mine once I was working on his stuff and then his ideas you know were on parallel with everything that me and George were doing so I just wanted that energy in the studio you know and he's been with us before. We've been making the record for six months together it so he's just been there working away. It's been so good I've been trying to do the Kanye thing of like 'give me all your best beats'..."
