British singer-songwriter Jessie J appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden, where she performed her latest song “Queen”.
The song is included on her fourth studio album "R.O.S.E.", which was released in four parts, starting on 22 May 2018, and finishing on 25 May 2018, with a part being released on each day. The four parts released are R (Realisations), O (Obsessions), S (Sex) and E (Empowerment).
The track was written by Jessie J and DJ Camper.
Jessie J said of the song;
"Even some of the strongest women will need this song at one point. I was so angry but passionate that day in the studio recording 'Queen'. I was so fed up of seeing negative comments and these forever changing rules for women on what is set as beautiful and ugly. There is no such thing, we are all QUEENS. I wanted to write a song that represented all women. I know there will be women that would have never said these words out loud to themselves before. 'I love my body, I love my skin, I am a goddess, I am a Queen'. That alone is so powerful. Whilst focusing on lifting up myself, it never left my mind the importance to uplift all women at the same time. So important to me. For me personally, this is one of the most important songs I have ever written."- source : Billboard
