Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Donna Missal Premieres New Music Video for “Girl”
American singer-songwriter Donna Missal's new song “Girl” was premiered on Zane Lowe on Beats 1.
She dropped a new music video for the song on May 24th. The video was directed by Justin Bettman. On the same day, she also shared a live performance video of the song. The track was written by Trevor Lawrence Jr., Tim Anderson, Nate Mercereau and Donna Missal.
The song will appear on her full-length debut including a debut song “Keep Lying”, which is expected to be released later this year.
Donna Missal said of the song;
“It’s been amazing to see this huge influx of art, music and media by women and for women – intended to support and encourage every kind of women to claim our space. I think it’s important to identify what makes us stronger and louder, and we have proven that we can shift the culture around us by coming together to address our common issues and goals. When we criticize and attack one another, we diminish our voice in the conversation for equality and social change, so I wanted to write something that speaks on that experience. I don’t know a single woman who hasn’t experienced this in some way, and I want to see that change.”- xUVMzEbFM3s

Last year, she joined in Macklemore’s latest album "Gemini", in which she co-wrote and perfomed "Over It" and "Glorious".
Also her song "Power" won Original Song – TV Show/Limited Series at 2017 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The song was recorded for Netflix’s “The Get Down”, and co-written by Donna Missal and Baz Luhrmann.
Recently, she co-wrote and performed Leon Bridges’ “Bet Ain’t Worth the Hand.”
She will open for Max Frost at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn on June 20 and headline The Hi-Hat in Los Angeles on June 23.- source : UMUSIC
