American rapper Nicki Minaj debuted two new music video for “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz”. Both songs were written by Nicki Minaj and Jeremy Reid.
She premiered two songs last month during an interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe. Also she uploaded a vertical music video for “Chun-Li” on Minaj's YouTube channel. But this time, she unveiled the offical videos.
“Chun-Li” was directed by Steven Klein. “Barbie Tingz” was directed by Giovanni Bianco and Nicki Minaj.
Producer and co-writer J. Reid said of the songs;
"So I came back to Cali, she played “Barbie Tingz,” she loved it, I loved it. We mixed it, mastered it. She was like, “Yo, I need you to do me another beat. I got this other little thing going on, and I need you to make me a beat for this song.” She proceeded to kinda rap it and give me the vibe. I was like, “This sounds like some boom-bap stuff.” She’s like, “I remember you had some more beats. Let me hear the ones you’ve already done.” We went through about 13 beats and she picked let’s say number seven out of the [remaining] 13. Then we got to number 13 and she was like, “Stop, pull that up, I’m about to go in.” And that’s “Chun-Li.” The format is the exact same.
