Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ The Chainsmokers Premieres New Song “Somebody” featuring Drew Love
New York-based DJ duo The Chainsmokers released the third EP "Sick Boy" on April 20, 2018. On the same day from the EP, “Somebody” was released with an accompanying music video, directed by Jim Batt and Kim Boekbinder. Illustrations by Molly Crabapple. The song features R&B vocalist Drew Love, who is known as half of American R&B duo THEY and collaborated with Shawn Harris and G-Eazy last year. The track was written by Andrew Taggart, Emily Warren and Drew Love.
The duo said of the video on Twitter, "It tells the story of temptation which we all deal with in our ways but often consumes us."
Recently they opened up to Billboard about plans to gradually release the project by unveiling one song from their forthcoming sophomore album every month through 2018.- The Chainsmokers, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart are known for more club bangers. “We’re writing songs about ourselves that feel raw… and those guys all did that at one point,” Alex Pall previously said, while talking about his friendships with Jared Leto and Chris Martin. “But their music’s become global. Chris would be like, ‘This is a great song. But does the world need this song?’ And I’d be like, ‘I guess not. But it’s important to us.’”
